Project implementation period: 1 October 2007 till 30 September 2008
Sponsorship: Support provided by Iceland and Norway as contribution from European Economic Area Financial Mechanism and Norwegian Financial Mechanism, and Poland’s contribution from the Fund for Non-Governmental Organisations.
Project Status: Completed
The IMPULS Project was a starter package designed to develop a socio-public partnership in the sphere of homelessness. Conducted in the Pomeranian Province under the name of The Pomeranian Forum in Aid of Getting Out of Homelessness it involved nearly 30 units of public, civil and educational sector institutions.
The support was given by Iceland and Norway through additional financing from the funds of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism and EEA Financial Mechanism, and from the budget of the Republic of Poland within the NGO Fund, Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and the Pomeranian Governor’s Office.
The first aim of this venture was to develop and increase the efficiency as well as the scope of activity of the Pomeranian Forum in Aid of Getting Out of Homelessness, and improve the level of commitment and activeness of partner institutions by evaluating the activities and developing a long-term strategy.
Our second aim was to increase the quality of services and professionalism of PFWB. In order to do so the renovation, adaptation of the office premises and providing necessary equipment was essential.
Before achieving legal status, PFWB was a partnership for the first 10 years of its informal activity. During this time the organization lacked professionalism and coordination of a large number of activities. In January 2007 partnership organizations set up the Pomeranian Forum in Aid of Getting Out of Homelessness Foundation designed to support the partnership’s development.
The realisation of the 12-month Project contributed to planning and strengthening the long-term cooperation aimed at combating homelessness. The project became the basis and technical as well as content-related background for the development of partner activities of the organizations helping the homeless in the Pomeranian Province.
